“No one should die of malignant melanoma” - A. Bernard Ackerman, 1985

Drawing upon the recommendations of a multi-disciplinary international clinical advisory panel, the Skin Cancer Institute will initially advocate for appropriate changes in the policies and practices of stakeholders to help the Institute achieve its mission.
  1. Training in early detection for Allied Health Professionals and other non-medical professionals.
  2. Dermatoscopy training for all Primary Care Providers.
  3. Increased access to specialist services for patients in rural and regional areas.
  4. Optimise scarce resources and improve efficiencies amongst stakeholders involved in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.
