Professor David Whiteman, group leader of the QMIR Berghofer Medical Research Institute’s Cancer Control Group, has announced that the Institute has developed an online survey which predicts the risk of a patient over 40yrs developing a non-melanoma skin cancer in three years. He also states that this survey has an 80% accuracy rate.
The Cancer Control Group hopes that this survey will cause Australians to seek early medical advice about skin cancer and encourage many people who have not yet been examined to take the survey and if necessary become part of the medical system so as to determine their risk.
